What fallows was posted by a good friend who was trying to help me with a little problem I was having. I have copied it here to repost his posting. I feel it may help me to explain to some of my you why try as I might there are some things around Facebook I simplely can not do. Even though many of you have heard me complain again and again of my issues with my oh so slow dial-up internet connection

This is the transcript (edited to protect myself .. lol --- he pinched my butt!!!) of a conversation between Vik, Sweet ‘n Sasi and myself. We were trying to get Vik fixed up so he could join the party. I remember these days .. 3AM conversations where the line was dropped .. very slow downloads .. this is Viks experience with BitTorrent.

ok all caught up and maybe here is where things went wrong last time I clicked
save ....I have three options or
think I should go with find
it says "Do you want to save this file, or find a program online to open it"
the open box was hidden behind the find, save, cancel one


lol let all take a break kids I think repeat think I got thing happening in order to open the torrent file I first need to down load ?? leHelper_setup_torrent.exe windows says that should be fin in about 20 min I will keep playing with it thanks for all you help both of you wish me luck and patients pretty sure I will need both
wooh whoo 16 min to go on the file I need to open the other file I need to open the file I want.......gotta love dial-up hehe

lol .. we were watching a movie .. lol .. your problem is that bit torrent 6.2 is not installed .. otherwise it would recognize the file

when you press that bar .. you will get a pop up window .. that lists the files it is going to download .. with little check marks on it
(it might have a bar across the top of your browser asking if you will allow it .. press yes .. or "allow" )

at this point BitTorrent will take over and start downloading the file ..

the magic of the Bit Torrent program is that it will contact all the places that you can download the program from .. and all the other people who are downloading the movie .. so with so many sources .. it downloads much faster than from one source

I shit you not. thanks so much for getting me to this point after a few false starts I have succeeded in starting the down load of the movie.

haha hehe Oh My F&#*%$& Gods when it first fired up I throw my head back and roared with laughter I mean really freaking load laughter right from the gut kind of guffaws, Bit Torrent 6.3 big page, but I use a GPS system at work as part of the job so I am looking at among other things my Estimated Time of Arrival every day so maybe that why of all the letters and numbers on that page
ETA was the first thing I saw teehee no shit it was 2 years 35 weeks

hahahah I knew it would get better always does but of course everything is relative
and it did improve... if I turn every thing else off it settles down to about a week

the chuckles were not over though. I had to open face book to send this to you and in doing that I slowed the down load to such a point that they actually showed me the infinity symbol hahaha come on I mean you gotta be fricking kidding me... infinity???.

so just cause I was curious I left the damn thing alone for the night to see how far it would get but some time last night I lost my internet connection and it paused but the good news is that I can restart it right when it left off I should have the movie ready for watching in about a year and a half as long as I stay off facebook and everywhere else I usually go.

smiling really both of you again thanks and I do mean that I now have some thing that I can use as a example for all the peeps I have been trying to explain dial-up to I know many don't truly understand and some I am sure think I am just trying to avoid them when I say sorry I can't play that game or get to that app I used to go to yoville and farmville barnbuddie and a few other of the more involved apps but they really do not work well for me

slowly get away from the arena as well I never win the grabs if there is anyone else trying that has a higher speed connection than I and pretty much every one does they win

.... you guys enjoy the movie party thingy it does sound like a hoot say HI to anybody I might know I don't think I will be attending I'd be like a blind guy at a light show ...can't see what's going on so completely clueless. so I'll go do the simple stuff... suck lolly pops and smack down some mob dudes

It's embarrassing to say it took an hour...

the very first one

as the title implies this if I even post it is to be my very first blog
and as you may have already guessed
I have no idea what the fuck I am doing, Oh look profanity humm? I wounder if that is allowed.
FYI I talk to myself a lot and I am doing so now.
'I think it is' I have looked a blog or two (hugz 4 kota)
I think there is some way to let all know that here at least I will forgo my habit of "verbal" censorship (can I "say" that, or that when I only type it?)
You see when I speak with others I find little need for words such as shit, fuck, whore, bitch, cocksucker and asshole, but when talking to myself as I believe this place a place to do just that. I think that I have heard most all of the profanities I know, and show no disrespect to anyone but myself and in truth I don't give a rats ass.
I should also mention that in time I will add photos to this location most all Viks Piks those being ones I have taken but some I am sure will be ones that I like and taken by others and me being me a heterosexual male there is a better than average chance that some of these piks might be at least PG 13
But of course every thing is relative and my pg13 could well be your definition of my eternal damnation or more likely mine is yours as I am far from the youngest soul you have ever met

Well for now that's enough of my ramblings to myself and to any that I might have offended stay the fuck out of my head because from here it's only going to get worse
